Doodle A Day: Day 103 Bowser

Bowser is one of my favortie video game characters, so I’m always torn when I play a Mario game knowing that my sole purpose is to stop him.

Despite his monstrous appearance Bowser really isn’t that bad a guy, he’s just a simple man who wants to be loved (kind of like Michael Scott).  So if being a giant fire-breathing Michael Scott is wrong I don’t want to be right.

Doodle A Day: Day 102 Luigi

Poor Luigi, the guy never gets his due.  I like to think that while Mario is off saving the day Luigi stays back and runs the Mario Bros. Plumbing Company.  Mario may be famous for saving Princess Peach, but Luigi stays back unclogging the toilets for the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom, and doesn’t that make him the real hero?

Yes. Yes it does.

Doodle A Day: Day 101 Mario

For my first non-Mega Man related doodle we have the one and only Super Mario.  I decided to play around with Mario’s look and the result is something that looks like what would happened if Mario was in Rayman Origins.

One thing I didn’t like about my Mega Man doodles is that they really weren’t that creative and unique in the grand scheme of things.  Now that I’m moving on from Robot Masters and I’m going to be focusing on characters I’m more familiar with I think it’s gonna be easier to do more unique spins on characters.

Doodle A Day: Day 100!!! Commando Man

By happy coincidence I’ve reached my 100th doodle on the same day that I’ve finished the last of my Mega Man doodles.  I realize that I’ve missed some characters from the Game Boy games, but after 100 days of nothing but Mega Man doodles I kind of want a bit of a break from Mega Man.  I might go back at some point and finish the rest but for the time being I’m just going to be drawing random video game characters for a while.

So for those that have stuck around with me for the past 100 days I thank you and I hope you stick around for the next 100.

Doodle A Day: Day 99 Blade Man

Blade Man has the potential to be the best Fruit Ninja player ever but unfortunately he lacks a means to hold onto a iPad and if he did he would scratch the screen to hell. Being a Robot Master can be a harsh cruel life.

Doodle A Day: Day 98 Nitro Man

I like to think of Nitro Man as Turbo Man’s little brother.  Where Turbo Man transforms into a racing car, Nitro Man transforms into a motorcycle and in doing so Nitro Man proves the age old adage true.  Things that transform are cool.

Doodle A Day: Day 97 Pump Man

Pump Man is what happens when you take the finest in Amish water pumping technology and combine it with what I’m sure is the highest quality of second hand robot parts money can buy.  I like to imagine Pump Man as a simple fellow, wheres the simple act of pumping himself* brings a huge amount of joy into his other wise pointless existence.

*Yes I’m aware of the large sexual innuendo in this statement.

Doodle A Day: Day 96 Sheep Man

Do robots dream of electric sheep? If so, what do electric robot sheep dream of?

Doodle A Day: Day 95 Chill Man

Drew Chill Man just kinda chilling out as he waits for Mega Man to arrive.  There isn’t really a lot for a Robot Master to do in their boss chamber so Chill Man is just nonchalantly examining his hand, seemed like a chill thing to me.

Doodle A Day: Day 94 Strike Man

One thing that bugs me a lot about Mega Man games is how sometimes a Robot Master’s weakness makes absolutely no sense at all, sometimes it’s like the Robot Masters were created and than some just goes and assigns weaknesses at random.

But Mega Man 10 isn’t like that at all and every Robot Master has a weakness that makes logical sense!  The first time I played Mega Man 10 I was able to correctly guess the order in which to fight its Robot Masters based on logic alone and it worked and because of the Mega Man 10 is one of my favorite Mega Man games.

Take Strike Man here for example a baseball themed Robot Master.  Using logic I was able to guess that his natural weakness would be Blade Man, as a sword can cut a baseball in half and it worked. LOGIC!!!  It can be a beautiful thing when used correctly.
